For most of their careers, Krystal Saunders and Jassany Williams have been rivals.
Despite their life-long friendship, when Saunders starred at South Broward High and Williams did the same at Nova, they played against each other with bragging rights and playoff berths on the line.
For years, their goals were to keep each other out of the postseason. That’s changed now.
Today, Saunders and Williams are teammates at Miami and Hurricanes coach Katie Meier is counting on the Broward County pair to keep a young team on track during a season expected to have its share of highs and lows.
